I love sewing because it is so exciting to see a garment take shape. I read once in a sewing magazine, Sew It All, that there is some power in looking at a garment and saying I can make that. Almost three years ago when my eldest daughter was born, I was struggling to find pants that both fit in the waist and in length. I decided that I could read directions and learn to sew. My first pair of pants was a disaster and I'm pretty sure that she never wore them but I took what I learned with those and tried another pair. Her second pair of pants were some of my favorites and amazingly a three month old wore out a pair of pants!
Since then, I have sewn costumes, dresses, bags, curtains, aprons, aprons and more aprons. This Christmas, I used some left over material from my wedding and made my girls' matching dresses.
